Earth & Sky’s Jorge Salazar spoke with Nancy Rabalais, executive director of Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium at her lab in Cocodrie, Louisisana. She led a science team in July 2007 aboard the Pelican, a NOAA research vessel, which mapped the dead zone. Here’s Nancy Rabalais.
